Dear TRACK U: How Does Gamification Work?

Dear TRACK University

Q: The TRACK University Learning Management System allows learners to earn points, badges, and certificates. However, I’m not sure how these points are accumulated.  

A: The badges, certificates, and points issued in TRACK University are components of a gamification tool used to improve engagement while creating friendly competition. Gamification is a big word used in learning and development and refers to leveraging people's natural tendencies for competition, achievement, collaboration, and charity.
